The City Football Group is set to announce the addition of third tier Chinese club Sichuan Jiuniu on Wednesday.
A Chinese club has long been rumoured to be on the agenda of the CFG and will be formalised with a press conference announced for 2pm Chinese time on Wednesday.
Manchester City and City Football Group CEO, Ferran Soriano, will attend the conference where it will be announced that the CFG has purchased Sichuan Jiuniu, a lower league club based in Chengdu in the Sichuan province.
The CFG already have offices in China and the addition of Sichuan Jiuniu will give them a club, which they will attempt to guide to the Chinese Super League, one of the wealthiest competitions in the world, which has been attracting big names in recent years.
In 2015, a Chinese consortium became 13% owners of the City Football Group and it has been reported that Manchester City will also tour China this July as they attempt to increase their profile in Asia.
