Manchester City and Newport County players lined up prior to their FA Cup fifth round game today to commemorate the late, great England goalkeeper Gordon Banks who passed away this week.
Banks was one of England’s all-time great goalkeepers and became famous for his acrobatic save from Pele in the 1970 World Cup.
And the first big chance of today’s FA Cup game saw Ederson pull off a save from a close range header that was an almost poetic tribute to Banks.
Newport’s Bakinson had a clear header from close range but the Brazilian goalkeeper stretched and pulled off a fantastic save to keep the scores level.
It’ll surely go down as one of the best saves of the 2018-19 FA Cup!
