Craig Burley: Raheem Sterling has surpassed Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah

Raheem Sterling is better than Liverpool star Mohamed Salah at the moment according to former Chelsea, Celtic and Scotland midfielder Craig Burley.

Salah has 5 more goals than Raheem in the Premier League this season, while Sterling has a couple more assists than the Egyptian superstar, but ESPN pundit Burley believes the England winger is a better player right now.

It’s a big call by the Scot, but he explained his reasoning, pointing to how complete a player Sterling, who arrived from Liverpool in 2015, has become under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola.

“I would say at the moment Sterling [is better than Salah],” Burley said.

“Sterling has taken his game to another level. Everything: touch, strength, vision, he really has.”

Since the beginning of 2019, Salah has scored 4 goals in 7 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions, while Sterling struck the same amount of goals in 8 appearances, while also contributing 2 assists – one of them against Liverpool in City’s 2-1 win at the beginning of January.
