Record-breakers Manchester City were at it again on Sunday afternoon at the Etihad Stadium, destroying Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea 6-0 with a showcase of world class football.
The result came with several footnotes too, as several records were updated today.
Sergio Aguero’s three goals meant he is now equal with Alan Shearer on 11 hat-tricks for the Premier League record. Sergio missed an open net, but that just made him angry and soon after he belted in a screamer from distance, before capitalising on a Ross Barkley mistake to add a second.
When Raheem Sterling won a penalty in the second half, Kun stepped up to become the Premier League’s joint-best hat-trick man, further cementing his place as one of the greatest strikers in Premier League history.

While Sergio equaled a record, Manchester City as a team broke one that had been set by Liverpool in the 2013/14 season.
City have scored 2 goals for the 15th Premier League home match in a row, a new Premier League record!
And last but not least, the 6-0 demolition job of Chelsea was the London club’s worst in a long time. Since 1991, in fact.
0-6 – Chelsea suffered their heaviest defeat in any competition since losing 0-7 to Nottingham Forest in April 1991. Drubbing.
