Joao Felix of Benfica is emerging as one of European football’s most exciting young players and the eyes of many top clubs are on him.
The 19-year-old, an attacking midfielder and second striker, is on the radar of Manchester City and has been for at least a year, but interest is growing in the Portugal under-21 international.
Felix has broken into Benfica’s first team, making 12 appearances in Liga NOS this season, with a fantastic return of 6 goals and 3 assists.
Compared to Cristiano Ronaldo, teenager Felix is being tracked by City, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, AC Milan, West Ham and Borussia Dortmund. His release clause is a massive €120 million and he is likely to be on the move next summer.
City have scouted Felix repeatedly but with such intense competition and a reluctance to pay over the odds nowadays, may have a challenge luring him to the Etihad should they make an approach.
As for the individual standouts, no doubts about João Félix – a superstar – another brilliant display. Seferovic, unrecognisable from last season, Pizzi and Rúben Dias also exceptional. For Sporting, even in a dreadful display, Bruno Fernandes was superb.

One person who could help them out though, is midfielder Bernardo Silva, who has given his endorsement of Felix.
In an interview with Portuguese newspaper Record, Bernardo spoke of his admiration for Joao Felix: “Joao Felix is fantastic,” Bernardo said.
The quote made the cover of the sports newspaper and if City want to bring Felix, one of European football’s future stars, to the Etihad, they could employ Bernardo to try and convince his compatriot that his future should be at the Etihad Stadium.
