Manchester City are among a host of clubs showing interest in Roma midfielder Nicolò Zaniolo, one of the rising stars of Italian football.
Zaniolo, 19, has made 12 appearances in Serie A for Roma this season and plays alongside the likes of Edin Dzeko and Aleksandar Kolarov at the Stadio Olimpico.
And although the Italy under-21 international is under a long-term contract to Roma, Rai Sport reports that his entourage are ‘taking their time’ on agreeing fresh terms with I Giallorossi amid heavy interest from abroad.
Roma have offered Zaniolo a deak worth €1.5 million per season, but there is still no agreement between the sides.
City are one of the clubs said to be ‘pressing’ for Zaniolo, and are joined by Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG – a cast of teams that highlight the talent he has.
Zaniolo is an attacking midfielder who has been compared to Premier League legends Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard in style.
Despite his tender age, he has already featured in the Champions League for Roma, making five appearances in Europe’s most prestigious competition this season.
