Manchester City will be one of as few as seven Premier League sides in tomorrow night’s FA Cup fifth round draw, with an unexpected number of top-flight clubs already out of England’s historic cup competition.
City advanced to the fifth round with a comprehensive 5-0 win over Burnley on Saturday and will be ball number 12 in Monday’s draw.
Potential opponents include neighbours Manchester United, Chelsea, AFC Wimbledon and Derby County, who are coached by Frank Lampard, once of City.
The likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton and the much-feared Wigan have already been eliminated from the competition, improving City’s odds of winning the FA Cup for the first time since 2011.
The FA Cup fifth round draw will take place on Monday 28 January (at approximately 7.20pm) and will be shown live on The One Show on BBC One.
