Spanish giants Real Madrid reportedly have Bernardo Silva on their summer wish-list but Manchester City’s Portuguese wizard doesn’t sound like a man in any hurry to depart the Etihad Stadium.
24-year-old Bernardo has been in great form this season, racking up 5 goals and 6 assists in 20 Premier League starts for the champions, and has become an integral part of Pep Guardiola’s side.
When interviewed by The Times about his future amid links to Real Madrid, hard-working Bernardo said he is happy in Manchester, wants to stay, and is willing to renegotiate his contract if City want to do that.
“I’m OK right now, I still have three-and-a-half years left,” Bernardo said.
“I don’t know what will happen but we will see. I’m happy at City and if they want to renegotiate my contract then of course I’m open to doing that.
“I’m very happy here at Man City – not only with the staff but I look around at my teammates and it is a young team that can achieve fantastic things.
“To look at the future and think that if we stay together we can do special things, I am very happy here and want to stay.”
