Borussia Monchengladbach head 7-team race for Manchester City winger – report

Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach are leading the race to sign speedy young Manchester City winger Rabbi Matondo, German newspaper SPORT BILD reports.

The 18-year-old, who Ryan Giggs recently gave a senior Wales debut to, has shown no sign of renewing his City contract and could be the next wonderkid out of the door after Jadon Sancho and Brahim Diaz, with interest growing.

Matondo, who is reportedly faster than Leroy Sané and Kyle Walker, is attracting heavy interest from Germany where many young English talents are now heading to further their development after the Sancho success story.

And according to SPORT BILD, it is Gladbach who currently head the pack for Matondo, with interest also arriving from Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Hoffenheim, Everton and Southampton.

City still hope to hold on to Matondo, who was recruited from Cardiff’s academy, but should he decide to leave, the Blues will look to earn at least €10 million (£8.9 million) from his sale.
