Manchester City’s trip to Huddersfield Town this Sunday will have the same referee as in the reverse fixture back in August, which saw the Premier League champions thrash The Terriers 6-1 at the Etihad.
48-year-old Andre Marriner was in charge that day and will have the whistle again when the Blues visit Huddersfield, who have been rocked by the departure of popular German coach David Wagner this week.
It’ll be Marriner’s fourth Premier League appointment of the campaign for City, the others being a 4-0 win over West Ham in London and the recent shock defeat to Crystal Palace at the Etihad.
Huddersfield’s only game with Marriner in charge this season was the aforementioned 6-1 drubbing at the hands of City, a scoreline they’ll be hoping to avoid a repeat of on home turf.
