Manchester City remain confident of signing Ilaix Moriba from Barcelona, despite a strong move in recent weeks from Juventus to acquire the La Masia wonderkid.
Ilaix turns 16 on Saturday and must make a decision on whether to stay with Barcelona or join another club, having failed to agree terms on a professional deal with the Catalan giants.
And according to SPORT journalist Albert Rogé, Manchester City are best placed to sign the youngster, compared in style to Yaya Touré, once he turns 16. They hope the player will visit Manchester after his birthday to finalise the details of a move to the Etihad Stadium.
💥Semana clave en el futuro de Ilaix Moriba:
– El centrocampista cumple los 16 años el próximo sábado y podrá firmar
– Barça ha presentado una propuesta muy buena a nivel económico y deportivo

However, Juventus have ‘appeared strongly’ in recent weeks and if any club can changed Ilaix’s plans to join City, it could be the Italian giants.
Ilaix is considered one of La Masia’s most exciting players and in their desperation to sign him, Barcelona are willing to offer a bigger salary, but one that still can’t match what the teenager is being offered by foreign clubs.
Time is almost up for Barcelona and unless they can change Ilaix’s mind, he will follow the likes of Eric Garcia and Adrian Bernabe, two ex-Barcelona kids who switched to City, out of the famed La Masia.
