Kevin De Bruyne went straight down the tunnel after being substituted off against Burton Albion in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg, raising fears that he might have another injury problem.
However, according to Paul Hirst of The Times, KDB wasn’t injured but rather angry at the decision to remove him quite early in the second half.
It is claimed that De Bruyne wanted to play longer in order to improve his match fitness after returning from injury, and was angry at Pep Guardiola for taking him off just 13 minutes into the second half.
Despite his out of character behaviour, it isn’t thought to be a major issue and De Bruyne is likely to make just his second Premier League start of the season next Monday when City host Wolves, a side who have made a habit of getting good results against top sides.
Sergio Aguero has also recovered from a bout of the flu and is expected to be fit to face Wolves.
