Manchester City winger Marlos Moreno is being linked with clubs in Brazil, Uruguay, Turkey, and now Ecuador as he seeks a new loan destination after his spell at Flamengo came to an end.
The much-hyped Colombian international has struggled since his £4.75 million move to Manchester City in 2016, with three separate loan spells in Spain and Brazil not going well.
According to Antena 2, City are trying to find ways to regain Marlos’ value in the market, and Ecuadorian side Barcelona S.C. could be the likeliest option, having been offered the player.
Although Ecuador is not a well-known league, Barcelona are in the 2019 Copa Libertadores, South America’s equivalent to the Champions League, and good performances by the 22-year-old in that could raise his stock.
Besides Barcelona, Club Atlético Peñarol of Uruguay, Brazilian duo São Paulo and Palmeiras, and Turkish side Sivasspor have been linked with the City winger in recent weeks.
