Real Madrid have unveiled who they hope will be one of their ‘galacticos’ of the future, Brahim Diaz, who has joined the Spanish giants from Manchester City.
Diaz joined Los Blancos in a deal initially worth £15.5 million, but which could hit £22 million if all add-ons are triggered.
Madrid president Florentino Perez unveiled Brahim at a special event today and the youngster said he never had any doubt which club he wanted to join after quitting the Etihad.
“It’s the happiest day of my life,” Diaz said. “I couldn’t have gotten a better gift. I had three options after leaving Manchester City. The first, to play for Real Madrid, the second, to play for Real Madrid and the third, to play for Real Madrid.
“I’m arriving at the club I dreamed of playing for as a boy.”
Brahim has been handed the number 21 shirt, the same number worn by David Silva at City.
