Kevin De Bruyne has been voted into the EA SPORTS FIFA Team of the Year, a star-studded XI comprised of some of the world’s best footballers.
The Belgian maestro, who was instrumental in Manchester City’s successes last season, was one of five Blues on the 55-strong list of nominees and the only one to make the final side.
De Bruyne was joined by David De Gea (Manchester United), Marcelo (Real Madrid), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), Raphael Varane (Real Madrid), N’Golo Kante (Chelsea), Luka Modric (Real Madrid), Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus), Kylian Mbappé (PSG) and Lionel Messi (Barcelona) in an awesome side that would surely conquer football if ever put together.
For De Bruyne, it is further proof of his ascent to the elite tier of footballers. The flame-haired midfielder has been stricken by injuries this season, but is now on the path to full fitness after a starring role in Sunday’s 7-0 win over Rotherham.
