Manchester City had an agreement in place with Toulouse to sign defensive starlet Jean Clair Todibo, but the player has instead chosen to join Barcelona, Mohamed Bouhafsi of RMC Sport has revealed.

Todibo, 19, is Toulouse’s hottest prospect and is out of contract in June, meaning European heavyweights have been lining up to try and sign him, with City, Barcelona and Juventus the most insistent.
And it is reported by France’s RMC Sport that Toulouse president Olivier Sadran had an agreement with City to sell the player to them, only for Todibo to decide instead on a move to Catalonia.
Toulouse are hoping to recover some cash for Todibo, a France under-20 international, by selling him this winter instead of allowing him to run down his contract, otherwise they hope to get him back on loan if he joins Barcelona as a free agent in the summer.
For City, it will come as a disappointment as they had apparently struck an agreement to sign the big prospect, considered to be one of Europe’s best emerging centre-backs.
City have good relations with Toulouse, who have been rumoured to be linking up with the CFG, and sent Spanish midfielder Manu Garcia on loan to the Ligue 1 side this season.
