Eliaquim Mangala is emerging as a serious candidate to reinforce the defence of Italian side Inter should Brazilian veteran Miranda leave the club, Tuttosport reports.
27-year-old Mangala is fit again after a serious knee injury sustained while on loan at Everton last season but will find opportunities limited at the Etihad with Aymeric Laporte, John Stones, Vincent Kompany and Nicolas Otamendi ahead of him in the pecking order.
And the Frenchman, who is out of contract in June, is being considered by Inter with Miranda pondering an exit from the Milan club after limited opportunities this season.
The Nerazzurri have a number of domestic-based players on their short-list, but such players would be difficult to acquire in January. Mangala, on the other hand, could be signed for little to no cost with City having no plans for him.
Mangala has also been linked with Turkish pair Galatasaray and Istanbul with his disappointing spell at the Etihad Stadium coming to an end.
