Manchester City are set to complete the signing of one of Espanyol’s most talented youth players, Óscar Tarensi, in the January transfer window, SPORT reports.
Talks are at an advanced stage for Óscar, a Spain under-16 international, to join the Premier League champions. The player turns 16 on January 10th, when he will be free to sign for any European side, and City have been following him for a while.
Described as a left-sider who is equally good as a full-back, midfielder or winger, Óscar will join the contingent of Spanish youngsters at City, which includes former Barcelona players Eric Garcia and Adrian Bernabe.
Óscar is one of Espanyol’s top-rated youth prospects and has been playing an age group up in the club’s Juvenil B team. Following his move to City, he will likely be placed in the under-18 set-up.
