Melbourne City want to terminate the loan deal of midfielder Anthony Caceres who is owned by their sister club Manchester City, Goal reports.
Signed in 2016 by Manchester City to benefit the CFG’s Australian club, 26-year-old Caceres has had two loan spells in Melbourne with a stint at UAE club Al-Wasl between those.
Melbourne coach Warren Joyce wants to make salary room to sign Kearyn Baccus though, and hopes an agreement can be reached with Manchester City to cut short Caceres’ stay.
The Premier League side wouldn’t be short on interest from Caceres, one of the many City loanees, with Sydney FC and an unnamed Thai League heavyweight interested in signing him.
Sydney-born Caceres is under contract at the Etihad Stadium until June 2020.
