Adrien Rabiot has received approaches from Manchester City, Arsenal, Barcelona and Juventus with the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder set to become one of the hottest free agents of the summer 2019 transfer window.
Rabiot, who has been frequently linked with a return to City, where he had a spell in the academy as a youngster, is out of contract in June and has no plans to renew his deal at PSG.
According to Le 10 Sport, concrete approaches have come from City, Arsenal, Barcelona, Juventus and Tottenham. Tottenham are said to be his most determined suitors, but in recent days Rabiot’s mother, who acts as his senior adviser, has told the North London club that he doesn’t want to join them.
Rabiot’s decision to snub Tottenham suggests that he believes he can win a move to a club he either deems more important or who are willing to pay a higher salary.
According to the same source, Juventus and Barcelona are best-placed to sign Rabiot as things stand. If Barcelona were to sign him, it could benefit City in the race for Frenkie de Jong, with both clubs in search of a high-level midfielder.
PSG sporting director Antero Henrique has effectively frozen contract rebel Rabiot out based on comments made today.
“Adrien Rabiot has told me that he will not sign a contract extension and that he wishes to leave the club at the end of the season, so once his current deal finishes,” Henrique told Yahoo Sport France. “The consequences are very clear: he is indefinitely benched.”

While Rabiot is likely to prefer becoming a free agent, which would mean commanding a huge signing-on fee at whichever club he lands at, PSG’s stance could lead to him considering a January move.
Pep Guardiola has ruled out any January signings for City, who are linked with a host of midfielders, such as Frenkie de Jong, Houssem Aouar and Tanguy Ndombele.
