Manchester City will link up with PUMA next season when the sportswear giant replaces Nike as the club’s official kit manufacturer – and they are getting ready for the deal by recruiting big names from the Premier League champions.
Sergio Aguero was already one of the company’s poster boys before teammate David Silva recently joined him at PUMA, and today it has been announced that club captain Vincent Kompany has also made the switch.
A minimalist tweet by the company announced the iconic Belgian as their newest signing, with the quote: “I was a leather boot only guy ’til I met the future.”

Pep Guardiola was also spotted wearing a PUMA jacket on the touchline for the Hoffenheim game, although whether that means the City manager has joined them or just liked their gear is unknown.

City have yet to announce the kit deal with PUMA, which will reportedly land them in the region of £50 million per season, a huge jump on the long-term kit deal with Nike.
And with Aguero, Silva and Kompany on board, PUMA may look to recruit more City stars in the coming months ahead of the club becoming their flagship Premier League partner.
