Leroy Sané named UEFA Champions League Player of the Week

Following his two goals in a Man of the Match performance against Hoffenheim, Manchester City flyer Leroy Sané has been named the UEFA Champions League Player of the Week.

The German was instrumental as City came from a goal behind at the Etihad Stadium to beat Hoffenheim 2-1, thus securing top spot in Group F by a comfortable margin.

Sané’s first goal on the stroke of half time was an unbelievable free kick that was worthy of being on highlight reels for years to come.

Leroy later capped off a nice team move, receiving the ball from fellow wing wizard Raheem Sterling to secure the victory for Pep Guardiola’s side.

It was a performance full of skill and energy, and for that Leroy Sané is the UEFA Champions League Player of the Week!

22-year-old Sané, who could be returning to former club Schalke if City draw them in the Champions League last 16, also made the UEFA Champions League Fantasy Team of the Week.
