Manchester City had West Ham wonderkid Reece Oxford watched by scouts on Thursday in the Hammers’ under-23 match against Chelsea, a game in which the England youth international found the net.
Oxford spent last season on loan at Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach, and two other German sides, Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim, joined City in scouting the 19-year-old.
Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini has yet to utilise Oxford’s talents and he could be sold soon, with the defender, who is 20 next week, believing that three bids of between £10 million and £20 million have been made for him.
There were reports back in 2016 that City had made a formal approach for Oxford, but they were later denied by the club.
However, in order to boost their homegrown quota, City may be considering a move for the starlet now, according to The Sun, and his versatility could appeal to Pep Guardiola.
