Manchester City are lining up a bid for Leeds United sensation Jack Clarke in the January window, according to The Sun.
Clarke, 18, only signed his first professional deal at Leeds 13 months ago, but City scouts have been monitoring him ever since and Pep Guardiola has ‘received glowing reports’ from Blues scouts about his talents.
The winger has broken into Marcelo Bielsa’s first team fold at Elland Road and came off the bench to set up Leeds’ only goal, scored by Pablo Hernandez, in their 1-0 win over Sheffield United on Saturday.
A clutch of Premier League clubs also want Clarke, but City are leading the chase and it is claimed that the Premier League champions will try to strike an agreement to sign him in January.
City sent another winger, Jack Harrison, on loan to Leeds in the summer and combined with a long-term respect between Guardiola and Bielsa, these factors could help City’s attempt to sign Leeds’ young wing wizard.
