Manchester City face Watford on Tuesday night and we’re still none the wiser as to whether Sergio Aguero and Oleksandr Zinchenko will be available.
At his pre-match press conference, Pep Guardiola cast doubt on the duo, and as with Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gundogan and Gabriel Jesus on Friday, it may be a question of how they perform in training today.
“I don’t know,” said Pep when asked if they can okay. “We have training this afternoon, so I can’t tell you the answer now.”
One player who certainly won’t be available tomorrow night is Kevin De Bruyne, who is not being rushed back despite suggestions that he was looking to the Bournemouth or Watford games as potential return dates.
Pep said: “Kevin De Bruyne is not ready. The other two I don’t know right now.”
Guardiola said he’ll listen to the opinions of his players on their fitness levels and trusts them to be honest.
“I trust the players. There are a lot of games. Whatever we do, we do in right moments. Every situation is different.”
City remain top of the league heading into the midweek fixtures, but Liverpool’s incredible late winner against Everton in Sunday’s Merseyside derby means the gap is still just two points.
