Raheem Sterling has developed into one of Europe’s most productive wingers and a shining light of English football under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
The 23-year-old is surrounded by great players at the Etihad Stadium, but in a new interview admits there is another team out there he enjoys watching – French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
In a lengthy interview with Henry Winter of The Times, Sterling admitted his admiration for PSG and one of their star players in particular – Neymar.
“I like to watch Paris Saint-Germain play,” Raz revealed. “What I really like about Neymar is that every time he loses the ball, or tries something in vain, he retries. He is not discouraged. He has this winning mentality.
“Look at Neymar against Liverpool.
“He did a lot of dribbling but realises at the right time at the end of the match, for example, when he tried the rainbow on Xherdan Shaqiri.”
The two players have come up against each other when City and Barcelona squared off in Group C of the 2016/17 Champions League.
Neymar has often been linked with a move to City, but the figures involved make such any hypothetical deal unlikely.
