Barcelona are desperately trying to hang on to Ilaix Moriba, another La Masia wonderkid who has been edging closer to a move abroad like so many before him.
And it is Manchester City threatening to sign the 15-year-old midfielder, who would follow in the recent footsteps of Eric Garcia and Adrian Bernabe by swapping Barcelona for Manchester.
According to Catalan newspaper SPORT, City have informed Ilaix and those in his close circle of their ‘great interest’ in him, a sporting and economic offer that appeals to greatly to the talented teenager.
Barcelona are said to be ‘doing a lot’ to keep him, but the fear is it may be too late and that Ilaix has decided to undertake a new foreign adventure.
In addition to City, Chelsea and Juventus also want to sign the player and could even improve on the economic offer made by Premier League champions City.
Football experts believe Ilaix, a versatile midfielder, is ‘perfect’ for English football. The youngster is said to have a great shot on him but is talented at many facets of the game.
At Barcelona they say that they have not seen anyone with his potential in a long time, and they now have to hope it isn’t too late and that they haven’t lost Ilaix Moriba to Manchester City.
