Manchester City will be without Kevin De Bruyne this weekend against Bournemouth and more than likely on Tuesday night when they visit Watford, despite suggestions he could be back in time for one of those two fixtures.
According to reports by Goal and the Telegraph, City will not rush the 27-year-old back and he is expected to be out for another fortnight, making him a major doubt for next month’s top-of-the-table clash against his former side Chelsea.
De Bruyne has not returned to training yet and City will want to time his comeback perfectly after he sustained an injury soon after returning from another.
It hasn’t been completely ruled out yet that KDB could be in the squad to face Chelsea in a fixture he proved to be the decisive influence in last season, but at this stage he is considered a doubt.
The Belgian has made just three Premier League appearances this season, all of them off the bench, but the champions haven’t suffered like some might have feared and sit pretty at the top of the table.
