It’s safe to say that Manchester City fans have been left uninspired by the Nike era, with yearly ‘template’ kit designs and rarely anything original or memorable.
Many Blues have hearkened back to the days of Umbro and unique, bespoke designs. The agreement with Nike is coming to an end and it remains to be seen what quality of kits incoming manufacturers Puma will create.
Dutch-based football kit designer Eenhoopjob has created a concept though, that perhaps shows what could have been with Nike if they put more thought into their City designs.
Based on the 1996/97 Manchester City away strip, it’s a unique, stylish strip that would surely have been an upgrade on some of the mundane kits seen during Nike’s partnership with City.
