Manchester City could soon add SECOND Brazil striker after Guardiola phone call – report

Manchester City could soon firm up interest that has existed since 2013 in recently capped Brazil striker Everton Sousa Soares – better known as simply Everton.

The 22-year-old Gremio striker has been scouted for a number of years by Man City delegates and according to new information from Brazil, has now received the phone-call any footballer wants from Pep Guardiola.

Filipe Kunrath of Rádio Grenal reports tonight that Everton is ‘excited’ at the possibility of joining Manchester City after speaking to Guardiola, although added that Gremio have yet to receive an offer from the Premier League champions or any other club – Manchester United have also been linked with the exciting forward in recent weeks.

This follows news from Kunrath’s colleague Diogo Rossi, who said several days ago that after being asked, Everton would love the opportunity to play for Guardiola.

Everton has scored 17 goals for Gremio in 2018 and is considered one of the best young talents to emerge in the footballing hotbed in recent years. He was handed his first national team call-up by Tite in August for Brazil’s games against the United States and El Salvador.

And if reports are true, he could be the second Brazil forward to join Manchester City after Gabriel Jesus, but only if City make a formal offer to Gremio, who have no urgent need for cash after selling Arthur to Barcelona last summer for an initial €31 million.

Check out Everton (not to be mistaken with the Liverpool-based club!) in action:
