Manchester City have entered the running to sign Colombian teenager Andrés Amaya from Atlético Huila, according to an exclusive report by Italy’s TMW.
Amaya is a 5’6″ tall 17-year-old central midfielder who is already getting game time for Huila in Colombia’s Liga Águila I — the country’s top division.
TMW states that Roma sporting director Monchi has set his sights on the talented youngster, but that could be complicated by rival interest from Premier League giants Manchester City.
The Colombian club are requesting a transfer fee of $3.5 million (£2.7 million) for their young prospect, who is currently under contract until 2022.
Were City to sign him, a work permit would seem unlikely for the left-footed midfielder, and he could be loaned out to a partner club such as NAC Breda or Girona.
