Manchester City’s eternal flirtation with Isco could continue into 2019 with reports from Spain claiming Pep Guardiola still has an eye on the Spain international.
Isco has fallen out of favour at Real Madrid and last played 90 minutes in their 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Barcelona in October.
With just 51 minutes of game time under new boss Santiago Solari, Real Madrid are finally considering a sale of the talented 26-year-old next summer, after resisting interest from the likes of City for years.
Isco, who has been accused of being overweight, has between now and the end of the season to reverse his situation and ensure he has a future at the Santiago Bernabéu.
And according to Mundo Deportivo, Manchester City and Pep Guardiola ‘remain attentive’ to Isco’s situation, and if given sufficient encouragement could make an approach in June.
City famously lost out to Madrid in 2013 when Isco had appeared to have one foot in the Etihad arrival lounge, only for a phone call from Zinedine Zidane to change his mind.
Now there is a chance that the City/Isco saga could roll into yet another year, although with David Silva still going strong, Kevin De Bruyne being Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva impressing, and Phil Foden on the rise, you have to wonder just how interested City are in Isco these days.
