Ilkay Gundogan will be able to put his feet up during the November international break after he wasn’t called up by Germany for their upcoming fixtures against Russia and the Netherlands.
Gundogan, 28, has been a regular in Joachim Löw’s Germany plans but will take no part this month, possibly because of his absence through injury, which he returned from in Manchester City’s midweek win over Shakhtar Donetsk.
The midfielder’s City teammate Leroy Sané, who himself fell out of favour with Löw, leading to a World Cup snub, is included in Die Mannschaft’s 24-man squad.
