He has yet to score in his 13 appearances on loan at Championship side Preston North End, but Manchester City whiz-kid Lukas Nmecha is on the radar of a Premier League club.
It is reported by The Sun that Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has had Nmecha watched this season and could plot a move to sign the England under-21 international from City, where he will struggle to break into the star-studded first team.
Whilst Nmecha’s failure to score in the Championship makes it seem unusual for a Premier League club to be keen on him, his raw talent and potential is clear and Howe believes Nmecha would thrive in his system as a forward.
Nmecha’s loan move to Preston is for the full season, meaning any move by Bournemouth would have to wait until the summer unless the temporary deal was terminated.
City have not been shy about selling talented youngsters in recent times — Angus Gunn, Angelino and Pablo Maffeo being three prime examples — but usually include buy-back and sell-on clauses in such transfers.
