Manchester City youngster confirms he will miss rest of the season

Manchestere City’s Australian youngster Daniel Arzani will miss the rest of the season after undergoing an ACL operation that has ruled him out long-term.

19-year-old Arzani, a summer arrival from CFG club Melbourne City, had struggled to break into Brendan Rodgers’ first team, but 22 minutes into his debut against Dundee during the week he was forced off hurt.

And it is very much a worse case scenario for the highly-rated Socceroo, with Rodgers confirming that initial scans showed Arzani has suffered an ACL injury.

After a further scan, it’s now official and Arzani is out for the season — which he confirmed on Instagram.

Arzani wrote: “Thank you to everyone who has taken the time out of their day to show support and love, I’m trying my best to reply to everyone but please understand this is also a very tough time for me as I recieved the bad news today that I will indeed need an ACL Op ruling me out until next season. Apologies to the Celtic fans for my 20 minute cameo 😅 This is however the beginning of my journey and I promise to be back better than ever. Day 1 road to recovery starts now. 🤙🏽💚💛🍀”
