Manchester City’s ever-president midfield ace Fernandinho could win his first ever Premier League Player of the Month award after being named on the six-man shortlist for the October prize.
The 33-year-old Brazilian was in immense form last month, starring against Liverpool and Tottenham, and getting both a goal and assist in the 5-0 drubbing of Burnley at the Etihad.
Ferna faces some tough competition with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ross Barkley, Anthony Martial, Matt Ryan and Callum Wilson also on the six-strong list of candidates.
