Manchester City are renowned for their free-flowing attacking football that enchanted fans around the world last season, guiding them to a 100-point season and two trophies.
This season though, the other side of Pep Guardiola’s system has also been highlighted with the Blues putting in some excellent defensive displays.
City have shut out both Liverpool and Tottenham at their home grounds, a feat few teams in the world could manage, and 7 of their 10 Premier League fixtures have resulted in Ederson keeping a clean sheet. That is the joint best in Europe’s top five leagues with French side Reims.
The other table City top is fewest goals conceded with just three shipped in, equalling a Chelsea feat set in the 2010/11 season.
Spanish newspaper Marca drew up an infographic showing these statistics, which show just how well City are doing at the back with the likes of Aymeric Laporte and John Stones proving to be formidable defenders.
