The winner of tomorrow’s all-Premier League tie will face more Premier League opposition having been drawn against the winner of Leicester or Southampton away from home.
A trip to Leicester would see Riyad Mahrez return to his old club, while Southampton are managed by former City boss Mark Hughes.
The Blues have won the Football League Cup, currently called the Carabao Cup for sponsorship reasons, on five separate occasions including in the 2013/14, 2015/16 and 2017/18 seasons. A win tomorrow would take them within three victories of lifting the cup yet again.
