Manchester City could watch one of their former academy gems, Jadon Sancho, join neighbours Manchester United, one of three clubs said to keen on signing him, Sky Sports News reports.
Sancho, 18, has become a revelation at Borussia Dortmund following his acrimonious £8 million move from the Etihad Stadium in the summer of 2017, and many of Europe’s big clubs have eyes on him.
Along with Manchester United, Arsenal and particularly Paris Saint-Germain are named as interested clubs, with Jadon expected to command a huge transfer fee when he moves next.
However, Sky Sports reports City are unlikely to make a move for Sancho, given how well-stocked they are in the winger departure, and given the nature of his departure.
Pep Guardiola recently said as much when asked about the teenage sensation,
“I think when he decided to move on from here, it is because he doesn’t want to be here,” Guardiola said earlier this month. “Maybe he thought he would get more minutes at Dortmund and I can understand that.”
Watching Sancho joined Manchester United or Arsenal would be difficult for City fans, but it appears to be just a matter of time before a wealthy club splashes out to sign a player considered one of the best of his generation.
