Eliaquim Mangala is finally set to return to action after half a year out with a serious knee injury that required surgery.
Mangala, 27, was forced off in just his second appearance on loan at Everton earlier this season with what turned out to be a season-ending injury, and it also kept him sidelined throughout the summer, killing any hopes he may have had of a move away from City.
The 8-cap French international, a big money signing from FC Porto in, 2014, announced his return on social media, thanking everyone who had helped him through a long and difficult recovery.
A lot of time has passed between these moments, but one thing in common: work & determination !
Happy to be back on the field, thank you to all those who supported me : my family, my friends,my physiotherapists, my teammates, my staff, my team and all of you ! 👊🏿#MangoIsBack 🔥 pic.twitter.com/jLKLvaqX3R

Mangala’s Manchester City contract is up in the summer and City could lose their £42 million acquisition for nothing unless a transfer happens in January – or, unlikely as it may seem, he signed a contract extension.
