Portuguese playmaker Bernardo Silva is the next Manchester City star set to be offered a new contract, according to multiple reports in the weekend newspapers.
Several publications including the Mirror and The Sun claim City are ready to reward Bernardo for his excellent early season form by handing him a new and improved deal, despite four years still remaining on his existing contract.
The 24-year-old has become a sensation since his arrival from Monaco in 2017 and already has 5 goals for City this season from his midfield role.
City view Bernardo as the successor to his namesake David Silva and want to keep him happy and make sure he is under contract for the entirety of his prime years, with a contract offer reported to be on its way.
The Premier League champions have been tying down many of their stars to new deals, although an agreement has yet to be struck with Raheem Sterling, while youngster Brahim Diaz could be on his way out with Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund interested.
Leroy Sané is expected to renew his contract soon with Pep Guardiola recently confirming that talks are in progress.
