Shakhtar Donetsk vs. Manchester City (Champions League): Starting Lineups & TV Information

Manchester City enter tonight’s game against Shakhtar Donetsk in a promising position in Group F of the Champions League, but knowing they have much work to do.

City were shocked at home by French side Lyon in the opening week of Champions League matches but bounced back in Germany with a late win over Hoffenheim.

Tonight, Pep Guardiola and his men return to the Ukraine for the second time in a year to face Shakhtar Donetsk. Last year, with the group already won, City fielded a weakened side and were beaten by Paulo Fonseca’s side. This time, the team is much stronger with a pressing need for a positive result.

42-year-old Carlos del Cerro Grande of Spain is the first-time referee this evening with Guardiola and Fonseca naming the following starting lineups:

Shakhtar Donetsk XI: Pyatov, Matviyenko, Kryvtsov, Rakitskiy, Ismaily, Fernando, Stepanenko (c), Maycon, Wellington Nem, Kovalenko, Junior Moraes

Manchester City XI: Ederson, Laporte, Mendy, Stones, Otamendi, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Silva (c), Mahrez, Sterling, Jesus

The match can be viewed on BT Sport in the UK. A full list of TV coverage across the world can be found here.
