Borussia Dortmund have Manchester City sensation Phil Foden on a three-man list of young English players they would like to sign after the Jadon Sancho success story.
Sancho has been a huge hit in Germany after quitting City over a year ago and taking the bold step of heading to the Bundesliga, where he has 6 assists and 2 goals in just TWO starts (six total appearances) in the Bundesliga, plus a Champions League assist.
City may regret losing Sancho, but could soon face the possibility of Foden heading to Germany, with BVB identifing the Stockport lad as one of three English youngsters they’d like, in addition to Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi and Bobby Duncan, who left City for Liverpool in the summer and is the cousin of Steven Gerrard.
Dortmund believe Sancho will now go on to become a £100 million superstar and believe his success story could tempt the likes of Foden to Germany, where they could expect regular first team football.
Foden has been expected to sign a new deal at his boyhood club but there has yet to be any contract signed, although City will be hopeful of keeping their boy wonder, who is featuring more and more for Pep Guardiola’s star-studded side.
