Manchester City have joined neighbours Manchester United and Tottenham in the race for Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake, the Mirror reports.
23-year-old Ake has impressed since joining the Cherries for Chelsea for £20 million around 16 months ago and his form has alerted leading Premier League clubs.
Pep Guardiola is said to be an admirer of Ake’s versatility, which allows him to play as a central defender, left-back and holding midfielder, and believes that would mean he would fit in nicely with the City squad.
There is a feeling at the Etihad that Ake could develop into a world class player, and him qualifying as a homegrown player is also appealing, with Ake having joined Chelsea from Feyenoord as a 16-year-old.
Tottenham and Manchester United are expected to provide competition for Ake, should Guardiola decide to make a bid for the Dutchman who it is reported he has been watching since the player joined Bournemouth.
