Manchester City are one of only two clubs Real Madrid star Karim Benzema would consider quitting the Champions League holders for, an agent linked to the player has revealed.
In an audio recording, Mediapart reports that Léo D’Souza, one of the Frenchman’s representatives and described as a ‘handyman’, said Benzema has two clubs ‘in his heart’ that he would consider joining were he to quit the Spanish capital: Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain
AC Milan were interested in signing the experienced 30-year-old in the summer, but Benzema had no immediate interest in joining the Italians, with City and PSG the only options he would consider.
A move for Benzema from City seems unlikely given that they already have a similar aged striker in the form of Kun Aguero, with Gabriel Jesus also an option for Pep Guardiola.
The Manchester City manager may soon begin his hunt for an Aguero successor but it would almost certainly be someone younger than Real Madrid star Benzema, and a player who would be around for the long haul.
