Jonathan Moss has been appointed referee for Manchester City’s first match after the international break against Burnley this weekend.
City host Sean Dyche’s side, who will feature former Blues fan favourite Joe Hart, at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday with 47-year-old Moss in charge.
Moss was the referee for the pre-season Community Shield game in which City beat Chelsea at Wembley Stadium and last season he had the whistle for four Premier League games involving the eventual champions, three of them wins for City and the other a draw.
The wins came over Liverpool (h), in which Moss sent off Sadio Mane for a high boot on Ederson, Stoke City (a) and Spurs (a), whilst the draw came on New Year’s Eve against Crystal Palace (a).
Saturday’s opponents Burnley had Moss just once last season, a 1-0 win away at Everton, but he has already overseen one of their games this season, a 2-0 home defeat to Manchester United.
