Manchester City have been named among a host of major European clubs interested in one of Serie A’s rising stars, Krzysztof Piatek of Genoa.
The 23-year-old Poland striker, who joined Genoa from Cracovia for €4 million this summer, has predictably been dubbed the ‘new Lewandowski’ after his free-scoring start to life in Italy and is on the radar of a growing number of top clubs.
With 8 goals in his first 13 appearances for Genoa, Piatek is now drawing interest from Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Liverpool according to major German newspaper BILD.
Bayern Munich see Piatek as a perfect successor to his compatriot Lewandowski while City will be looking at long-term replacements for Sergio Aguero who is now 30.
Piatek is under contract until 2022 and after his explosive start to life at Genoa, the Italian club will be rubbing their hands together knowing how much they could soon profit on the gem they have unearthed.
