Sergio Aguero has been revealed as the first nominee for the 2018 Ballon d’Or award, which recognises the best footballer in the world over the past year.
In total, there are 30 nominees being revealed at staggered times, with a new set of five every hour. Aguero’s City teammate Kevin De Bruyne is also expected to be named later, but it was Kun whose nomination kicked things off.
The 30-year-old Argentine scored 30 goals in 39 appearances last season for his club, and has 8 goals in 11 total appearances to date this season. He is now recognised as one of the greatest strikers to ever play in the Premier League.

No City player is among the favourites, with Luka Modric odds-on to end the long-running Ronaldo and Messi domination, although Ronaldo himself is second favourite to receive the prize.
