And here we go! Premier League leaders Manchester City head to Anfield today to face the team they are above only on goal difference, Liverpool, in the biggest game of the Premier League season to date.
City will once again try to end their Anfield hoodoo, having not won at Liverpool’s famous stadium since a late Nicolas Anelka winner in 2003 – that’s before some of today’s teenage City fans were even born!
Jurgen Klopp has proven to be a formidable opponent for Pep Guardiola, his Liverpool side knocking City out of the Champions League last season, but City had the last laugh after lifting the Premier League trophy – a trophy these two free-flowing sides look destined to battle it out for this campaign with today’s match an important step along the way.
