Pep Guardiola has been nominated for September’s Barclays Manager of the Month award after Manchester City won all four of their Premier League games last month.
City’s wins over Newcastle, Fulham, Cardiff and Brighton put Guardiola in contention for his sixth monthly award, but he faces competition from Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool), Nuno Espirito Santo (Wolves) and Unai Emery (Arsenal). Like Guardiola, Emery was also 100% in September with Arsenal and may provide the toughest competition for the prize.
Guardiola made history in 2017 by becoming the first man to win the Manager of the Month award four times in a row after receiving it in September, October, November and December 2017, after previously winning it in February.
